How does taskapron work?
We are an online platform connecting two members (parties) - the poster (aka, client) who posts tasks in need of completion and the tasker (freelancer or business) who earns money completing those tasks. taskapron supports creating contracts between the two in order to reach the desired end goal. This means you have a secure means of finding tasks, payment processing, and free dispute resolution
Who can create an account?

What information is needed to get started?
Once signed up you can start using taskapron but upon using the website you will be prompted to provide any information needed to start working or post tasks. This includes providing a mobile phone number, location (to be found), and, including but not limited to, payment details (to pay and get paid).
What rules must I follow on taskapron?
Posters and taskers have a set of Community Guidelines that are agreed to upon signing up. These guidelines are created in line with our Terms of Service and are in place to provide safety and security improving your experience.
Where can I go for help?
taskapron provides several ways of getting in touch - this includes live chat, Q&A (page your are on), and email.
What is taskapron?

taskapron is a trusted community platform connecting people who need tasks completed, with those willing to complete those tasks accordingly. You can find and post in seconds.

No task is too large. From simple to complicated, taskapron is here to help. Whether you need home cleaning, roadside assistance, grocery delivery, or even an addition to your home, we provide what's necessary tools to get it done

We are a community and should be able to interact as such. The only fee you are ever charged is a commission, and they are only taken if the task is completed successfully.

What type of tasks can I get done?

With taskapron, you can outsource the work you can't, or just don't want to do. But, before posting something that requires a second thought, check your city, state, and governments guidelines on the legalities of the task. taskapron's universal guidelines prohibits escort and adult services, advertising, alcohol related tasks.

To create a safe and rewarding environment, users must follow the guidelines posted.

Can I communicate or work outside of taskapron?

Simply put, no. Posters and taskers may only communicate and work through taskapron. Why?

Anything done outside of the platform can be difficult to prove. If the work is done on the platform we are able to fully understand the situation from beginning to end.

Therefore, any work done outside of the platform is not allowed. You will not be punished, but you will also not be able to open a dispute if we find proof that any work or communication was conducted outside of the platform.

Those who don't follow these guidelines must settle their dispute without the help of taskapron's resolution team. This can be done on or off the platform.

Who is a Poster?

A poster is someone looking to get their tasks completed whether online or in person.

Creating a task is easy and free - simply sign up and describe your task to the community.

Once posted you will begin receiving offers from interested taskers. From there you can quickly view profiles and feedback of those you are interested in working with.

Upon selecting a qualified tasker you will be prompted to place the funds into a secured escrow account until the task is completed as described. You'll have the tools, such as private messaging, necessary to communicate the task efficiently without the use of another website or app.

Show others who you are using badges. These badges show that you have proven your identity and have a license in a particular area.

Who is a Tasker?

A tasker is someone looking to complete tasks whether online or in person.

Finding work is easy - simply search tasks in your area and apply! It takes seconds - just sign up here, get your profile together (and even create your own business account(s)), and start applying.

Once signed up, you can begin making offers. If an offer is accepted you will be notified and can begin work on the day(s) listed. Keep in mind that you must have legal working rights in the USA and be ages 18 (with a legal guardian's permission) and over.

Funds are held in an escrow account until the task is completed successfully.

Is taskapron available in my area?

taskapron is currently only available in the United States of America ("USA," "US" are used interchangeably).

Note that you are only able to post tasks in the country you are located. If you are completing tasks, you must be located in the country you are completing the tasks and have local working rights and be ages 18 (with a legal guardian's permission) and over.

No tasks in your area? You can choose to post your own task or wait for the demand to increase. In the meantime you can invite others in your area and earn money in the process. Sign up here to get your referral link.

What is an "Escrow Account?"

Being in escrow means you've entered a legally binding contractual agreement where the funds are held in a third party (taskapron) account on behalf of the poster and tasker until the task is completed.

Once complete, the funds are automatically dispersed to the respected parties.

What is a "Beta Launch"?

This essentially means development is still in progress.

We at taskapron want to make the experience on the platform unforgettable, while providing security, quality and assurance in the process.

During this process you may experience small mishaps and mistakes that can easily be taken care of. While in beta we ask that your report any errors, mispellings, and anything you feel does not belong.

is taskapron driving down prices?

In short, no. The construction and service industry have always been a competitive market. From quotes, to the negotiating of contracts to those who are self-employed. Keep in mind that those who are self-employed have been placing "bids" since the dawn of time.

To help keep market prices stable, all offers made will only be shown to the poster ("client"). This will prevent others from unfairly viewing your bid and attempting to "underbid." You, as the industry experts, should bid accordingly, whether the poster posts a low or high budget task.

Badges and Licences

Badges are a way to verify someones identity whether they have a profile photo or not. This ensures that the user has completed one or more badge verifications - these can be viewed under badges and licenses in your dashboard.

Licences ensure that someone is permitted to perform specialized work in a particular field. Nearly all of the categories listed have specialized areas that require a professional so you must asses whether you do by the type or amount of work to be done.

Applying is easy and free. This shows others you are verified and a qualified tradesperson. Sign up here to get started.

I'm 16. do I need a worker's permit?

As a minor you are only able to engage in casual tasks that don't require a license. These include, but not limited to,

  • babysitting
  • snow shoveling
  • lawn cutting

Your legal guardian is responsible for you and any work perform. Violating any of these rules could result in permanent account termination. You are only allowed one account per person.

You, the legal guardian, must determine a risk/hazard assessment before entering into any contract.

Posting a task

How do I post a task

Posting a task and getting quotes is easy and free. Simply click post a job in the navigation menu.

When posting, be clear on the scope of work, time, and budget as this ensures the tasker can assess their ability to complete the task properly.

  • scope of work includes clear milestones and deliverables with an end product in sight
  • the time you expect the tasker to arrive must be included with each milestone
  • budget must be fair and can be raised at any time during the project

Not sure how much the task should cost? Once signed up you can quickly create a quote and receive appraisals on the actual job site.

How much should I list my task for?

When posting a task you must consider the amount of time it would take to complete and a fair hourly rate. We encourage offers to be made at a fair market price so offers may vary. You are encouraged to select the tasker based on not only their offer, but their profile rating, badges, and licenses. As the poster ("client") you are responsible for choosing a reliable tasker.

Refer to the Bureau of Labor Statistics for updated trade pricing.

Not sure how much the task should cost? Once signed up you can quickly create a quote and receive appraisals on the actual job site.

Do my tasks expire?

Tasks expire on the due date if not filled by a tasker.

You can easily repost the task with a different due date from your dashboard. Simply find the task that expired and click repost.

How long do I have to inspect and release payments?

After a task is completed the poster must inspect to make sure it was completed as specified and they'll have 48 hours to do this. If there aren't any issue, you may release the payment immediately.

If the poster forgets to release the payment within the 48 hour timeline, it will automatically be released to the tasker.

What is the maximum task price?

The maximum task price is $10,000 per milestone. A milestone essentially signifies the completion of a single task within a project with multiple tasks. You are able to create as many milestones per project requirements.

Example: Kitchen renovation that requires a complete teardown.

  • $2,500 for demolition and debris removal
  • $6,500 to order supplies
  • $4,800 for renovation

Alternatively, you can hire different taskers for different parts of the renovation. For example, you may create a task for the plumbing and another for the electrical.

Keep in mind that if you communicate or agree to any work outside of the taskapron platform you are no longer able to file or settle any disputes with the help of taskapron's resolution team. Refer to Can I communicate or work outside of taskapron? for more information.

How far ahead can I post my task?

You can post a task as far out as you need. We suggest that you post tasks closer to the due date because it can sometimes be difficult for taskers to commit if the task is too far ahead in time. Tasks can be rescheduled once assigned to the tasker.

Can I assign multiple taskers to one task?

For now this feature is currently unavailable. Keep checking back for updates.

I posted my task, what do I do now?

Once your task has been posted it will be made public where interested taskers can begin applying. You can view your posted listing on the search page and manage from your dashboard.

You will be notified once you start receiving offers. From there you can browse and select the best tasker for the task.

Please note that if you have not provided a payment method you will be prompted to before hiring a tasker.

Payments are debited from your account and held in escrow until the task is complete.

Can I request a quote from a specific business or tasker?

For now you may only request quotes from a business unless you are provided with a direct link to the users profile. If you have not created any tasks when requesting the quote, you will be prompted to create one. This task will become public where other taskers can view and make offers in case the business or tasker doesn't respond.

Please note that when sending quotes the task amount will be placed in escrow to assure the business or freelancer that you have a serious offer. You will be notified if the business or tasker accepts or declines the offer sent.

Making Offers

How do I make an offer?

Sending offers are easy and free. Simply navigate to the task and select send offer. From there you can send a reasonable offer letting the poster ("client") why you are the right person for the task.

How much should I offer?

When making an offer you must take into account your hourly rate based on how long it will take to complete the task. If you feel the budget is too low then make a reasonable offer and tell the poster ("client") why you are making the offer you are.

Refer to the Bureau of Labor Statistics for updated trade pricing.

Can I change my offer?

Yes. Navigate to the task you've made an offer on from the search page (change offer) or dashboard (modify offer).

Found the task from the search page? Select send offer and from there you can send an updated offer that will replace the old one.

From the dashboard go to jobs to modify the current offer made.

Can I view all of my offers at once?

Yes. Navigate to your dashboard and select jobs.

Is there anything to look out for when making an offer?

Trust and integrity are top priority on this platform. At taskapron we do our best to mitigate any situation that could affect that.

It's important that our community members are well-informed of any possible fraudulent activity and know what to look out for.

When making offers keep a look out for suspicious activity and report it so we can invistigate further. In any situation where you feel a task may go against our guidelines you may report it directly from the listing.

Some examples of potentially suspicious activities to report:

  • Suspiciously high valued tasks (e.g. $200 to visit a link)
  • Delivery tasks where you have to use your own money
  • Tasks immediate assistance with no clear profile photo or badges or licenses
  • Tasks posted at odd times (e.g. deliver eggs at 2am)
  • Forwarding or delivering pre-packed mail or items (e.g. pick up mail and send it off)
  • Requests to use your account to advertise products or services elsewhere

If anything seems off, don't hesitate to ask the poster ("client") for more information or report the task.

taskapron welcomes weird and unusual tasks, but they must conform to the guidelines set in place.

This helps make taskapron a safe and trusted community platform.

Can I negotiate my offer privately?

Private messaging is allowed only after a task has been accepted. If you feel for any reason that you need to update your offer, you can do so by finding the task and selecting send offer.

My offer's been accepted, what next?

Once an offer has been accepted, the status will change from open to assigned.

If it has been assigned to you, you will receive a notification and the listing will appear in your dashboard under jobs. The payment will be securely held in escrow (by the poster) until the task is completed.

If you have any questions regarding the task, time, or location, you can privately message the poster from the jobs page in your dashboard. Once complete, the poster will be notified and have 48 hours to review and release the payment or it will automatically be released.

Should you have any disagreements before the payment is release you may have taskapron intervene and figure out a solution based on what information is provided on this platform only.

Need more merchandise to complete the task? Simply ask the poster to increase the budget and why.

Risk vs reward

If the task can not be safely accomplished, you (posters and taskers) must take the proper steps to make it safe or it must be cancelled. Threats or abuse of any kind will not be tolerated by any members. If you or any user feel the need to report another member you can do so by selecting the profile and selecting report. Knowing what to expect in any task is important for both the poster and tasker. This helps us to remain transparent and predictible and tasks flow smoothly. If you've agreed to subcontracting, we would advise you to check their profile and verify their ID. You must be 18 and over to subcontract.

Payments

Managing payment settings

In order to place an or assign a task, you must verify your payment details. Following the task, the payment will be deducted from the account of the poster and held safefely in the taskapron payment account. Prior to releasing a payment, we highly recommend that you check to make sure the task was completed. You'll have 48 hours to verify the task or it will automatically be marked as complete making the process a smooth and efficient one.

What is the taskapron payment account?

The taskapron payment account is a cashless payment system. When offers are accepted the funds are debited from the posters credit/debit card and held in escrow (also know as the "taskapron payment account") until the task is completed.

It's purpose is to guarantee payment protection for taskers, as well as a safe, seamless way to get posters to complete local tasks. Both posters and taskers can rest-assured that the money is tied to a particular task via the taskapron payment account; and that the agreed amount will be released only when both parties are satisfied with the work rendered or 48 hours passes.

The following steps apply when the taskapron payment account is used:
  1. A task has been posted on taskapron
  2. The poster agrees to the task posted by the tasker
  3. Following acceptance from the poster, the agreed payment is deducted from the posters payment method

What is automatic payment release

When a task is posted and a tasker is assigned the money is placed in escrow (or taskapron payment account) where it is held securely. When the task is complete the poster must inspect to make sure it was done as specified.

In some cases, the poster inspects the task but forgets to release the payment. To help make payments more smooth and efficient they'll have 48 hours to do this. When that time passes the payment is released to the tasker.

Pricing and payments for posters

taskapron is an efficient and effective platform when it comes to getting things done. In order to remain focused on this goal, we've set standards and policies in place. Find anything you need to know about pricing and payments below.

Setting a good budget

Setting prices for tasks where you have no idea of the value can be frustrating. Each industry is unique and have their own rates or price guides.

Always remember, you get what you pay for. A fair budget can go a long way when it comes to getting the task done. If an offer sounds too good to be true then it often is, and, in most cases, should be reported if you feel that it violates our community guidelines.

Refer to the Bureau of Labor Statistics for updated trade pricing.

Available payment methods

taskapron supports online payments only. They must be made through our taskapron payment account where funds are held until a task is completed successfully. All major credit/debit are accepted.

You may only add one payment method at a time.

Why must I include a payment method before assigning tasks?

When assigning a task, payments are held in a secure escrow account where the funds are released upon completion. This shows the tasker that the task is funded and that you have a serious offer.

This provides a mutual, and contractual, agreement between the poster and tasker ensuring that each party is paid fairly for the work done or not.

You, as the poster, have full control over releasing the payment. But in order to remain efficient, you'll have 48 hours to inspect and release the payment.

Can I change the price of my task?

After posting a task, it becomes available in your dashboard where you are provided with several options as a way of managing your posts.

Visit your dashboard and locate the task under Jobs. Simply select the edit button to change the price and any other needed information.

If the task has been assigned, you are only able to increase the budget. To do so follow the above steps and select job details.

How to pay your tasker

After the tasker arrives and completes the task he may request payment or wait until the 48 release window is up. You may inspect and release payments at your own discretion. If a tasker requests payment upon completion you may decide to release. If the payment isn't released immediately you'll have 48 hours to release or it will be released automatically. The 48 hour window allows us to flow efficiently and you to inspect the job site.

Should any problems occur, you and the tasker must rectify it. If not, you have the ability to open a dispute.

How do I tip my tasker

Tipping becomes available after a task has been successfully completed. To tip your tasker simply locate the completed task and select view invoice.

When should I expect my refund after a cancellation?

Refunds are typically initiated if a task is not completed as per your listed requirements. Funds are instantly refunded by taskapron, but may take from 7-10 business days depending on your bank to arrive in your account.

Making a good offer

Setting prices for tasks where you have no idea of the value can be frustrating. Each industry is unique and have their own rates or price guides.

Making offers as a tasker or business is important when building your brand within the community. It is essential that you follow the practices set within the community guidelines (refer to unacceptable practices on taskapron for more information).

Here's what to avoid when submitting offers to posters:

No charging for taskapron's fees
In order to maintain a fair and safe platform we must enforce guidelines to keep it running. Charging a small commission is a way of doing this. You as a tasker may never charge for taskapron's commission fees. All other services offered are free and provide you with opportunity in your community so those trying to take advantage of that may be subject to losing commenting and/or bidding priviledges.
What must I avoid when completing a task?

Completing tasks is important when building your brand within the community. It is essential that you follow the behaviors set within the community guidelines (refer to unacceptable behaviors on taskapron for more information).

Avoid any unprofessional behavior.

What costs should be included in my offer?

When making offers, the poster should always be informed as to the list of requirements and material. This helps them to understand what is going on from start to finish.

Your offer may not include tips and fees. Tips are not required by the poster, so remaining social about updates and answering questions could go a long way. Fees keep our platform running and may never be included in any offers.

Can I change or update my offer?

After making an offer on a task, it becomes available in your dashboard where you are provided with several options as a way of managing your posts.

Visit your dashboard and locate the task under Jobs. Simply select the modify offer button to change the price. If you would like to resubmit a new offer you must go to the task and select send offer.

If the task has been assigned, you may ask the poster to increase the budget using our private messenger. You must explain why you need the increase in full detail.

I've arrived to the project and feel the budget is too low. What do I do?

If you arrive to the project and feel that you underestimated your budget based on unseen problems, you may ask the poster to increase the budget using our private messenger. You must explain why you need the increase in full detail.

If you are at the job site you must do your best at evaluating the increase before starting work. The reason is because your poster may deny your increase and you are no longer able to complete the project with the budget given. When this happens, and you haven't started, you can simply cancel the project and contact us with the reasoning behind the cancellation. If you have, you must do your best to work with the budget and materials provided.

Getting paid after completing a task

After arriving and completing the task you may request payment or wait until the 48 release window is up. The poster has the right inspect and release payments at their own discretion. If you request payment upon completion, the poster may decide to inspect and release. If the payment isn't released immediately they will have 48 hours to release or it will be released automatically. The 48 hour window allows us to flow efficiently and the poster time to inspect the job site.

Should any problems occur, you and the poster must rectify it. If not, you have the ability to open a dispute.

When should I expect payment for a completed task?

Payments are typically released instantly. If the funds aren't instantly deposited into your accoutn, it may take up to 3-5 business day to arrive depending on your bank.

How do I view my invoices?

In some cases, our payment provider may need to perform an identity check for confirmation or a payment exceeds their guidelines.

Verifying your identity is easy and free. You may choose from several identity badges in your dashboard.

Does taskapron have a service fee?

taskapron's service fee, or commission, helps to keep the platform running and employees paid. This fee may fluctuate without notice, but will never go above 15% as our taskapron guarantee states.

Keeping commissions low is goal we wish to maintain. By following our guidelines and using the platform as specified, we are able to maintain our goal of keeping a low commission. As the platform grows, so will the fees so as a promise, taskapron vows to never charge the community for anything other than commission.

If you wish to contribute, you may do so from the home page.

Information needed when making cancellations

In uncertain circumstances, issues may arise where you may need to rescind (or cancel) a task. If you find yourself needing to cancel a task, there are some things to remember. This post will help to ensure that you are ready to cancel the task.

Work has started on the task - how do I cancel?

If the tasker has begun work on the task (partially completing it), they may be entitled to some compensation for their time and effort.

If a situation like this arises, we suggest that you discuss a partial payment with the tasker. Once an agreement is made you may contact us with the decreased payment amount.

If no agreement can be made, either of you may open a dispute where taskapron support will determine an outcome based on the evidence presented.

Does cancelling tasks affect my completion rate?

In short, yes. Cancelling tasks will lower your completion rate in cases where you were found to have been the cause of the cancellation. On the other hand, if you're found to not have been the reason for the cancellation, your rate will not be affected. For that reason, it's vital that you always select the correct cancellation reason.

Low completion rates affect your reputation and profile on taskapron essentially making it more difficult to receive offers, or have offers accepted.

Repeated cancellations can also lead to negative measures taken against your taskapron account. Depending upon the circumstances, we may decide to limit or, in severe cases, deactive your account. See breaching community guidelines for more information.

How long does the cancellation process take and how does it work?

Cancelling a task requires you to open a cancellation request (or dispute) from the task itself located in your dashboard.

After your cancellation request is made, the other member will receive a notification with 48 hours to respond. They can either accept or decline or decline the request. If the member doesn't respond within the given time frame, the task will be cancelled in your favor.

Once the request is accepted, the payment will be refunded to your account instantly or, in some cases, 3-5 days depending on your bank.

When should I expect my refund after a cancellation?

Refunds are typically initiated if a task is not completed as per your listed requirements. Funds are instantly refunded by taskapron, but may take from 7-10 business days depending on your bank to arrive in your account.

Why shouldn't I cancel tasks for cash payments?

taskapron is a safe and secure platform bringing posters, taskers and businesses, together within the community without the risk the of finding or completing tasks blindly. When completing tasks on the platform you get the piece of mind you wouldn't anywhere else. Not only are there rules to abide by, you have secure payments, dispute resolution in case anything goes wrong, a support team and the ability to provide valuable feedback. If a task is cancelled or we find that work has been done outside of the platform, you will not be eligible for any of these services.

Users may want to cancel a task in favor of cash for a number of reasons. However, the reasons usually turn out to be fraudulent and may cause loss of property or damage.

If you are offered a cash payment in order to cancel, you politely decline stating that you only work through taskapron. If the situation becomes uncormfortable, you may contact us for further assistance.

How do I repost my cancelled task?

  3. Select the task you’d like your chosen tasker to complete and submit
How do I initiate cancellation for a task?

Prior to demanding a task cancellation, make sure to check the points below:
  • An impacted taskapron reputation as a result: by cancelling a task, you risk impacting your completion rate, which could get in the way of getting assigned tasks or receiving quality offers.
  • taskapron profile deactivation or limitation: cancelling tasks regularly may lead in account deactivation or limitation.

Steps to follow:
  1. Go to your dashboard
  2. Under jobs, locate the task in question

What should I do when I get a cancellation notification?

After your cancellation request is made, the other member will receive a notification with 48 hours to respond. They can either accept or decline or decline the request. If the member doesn't respond within the given time frame, the task will be cancelled in your favor.

Should you agree to the other member’s request to cancel your task, click accept. If you’ve already started to work on the task and don’t agree with cancellation request, you may decline.

In cases where you’ve decided to decline, we recommend that you have a conversation with the other member via private chat to see if you can reach an agreement on mutual terms. In the case of a disagreement regarding cancellation, contact the taskapron customer service department for further assistance on this matter.

The member who cancels a task will be asked to provide a reason. You will only be notified after you’ve accepted the cancellation request. Following this step, you will be asked to agree/disagree with the reason highlighted by the other party. If you agree that the task should be cancelled but you are not satisfied with the reason given, contact taskapron to further guidance.

What should I do if I don't agree with the cancellation reason?

When a member demands that you cancel a task, they will be requested to provide a reason for the cancellation.

The reason will be communicated to you via the cancellation request. At that point, you will have to agree/disagree with the reason provided by the member. If you feel the reason is unsuitable and wish to disagree, you can offer feedback directly to taskapron and mention your own reason for disagreeing.

After reaching a mutual agreement and a cancellation reason has been accepted, the task will be cancelled and the parties involved won’t need to do anything else. taskapron reserves the right to investigate the cancellation procedure and reasons for cancelling of both parties in order to attribute the cause correctly to the rightful party as cancelling an offer may have a negative effect on members that initiate cancellations, thus impacting completion rates.

To ensure taskapron offers a seamless, user-friendly experience to all of its members, the team will keep monitoring behaviors and trends linked to any task cancellations to make sure the platform is running smoothly.

Can I change my mind about my cancellation request?

Once a cancellation request is submitted, the 48 hour countdown starts and can no longer be cancelled.

Safey, Trust and Disputes

Poster safety - After posting a task, what safety tips should be followed?

We, at taskapron, take safety and security very serious. Building a trusted community where members go to find or post tasks, while creating an all-around positive experience, is a goal we wish to maintain.

It's important to note that when accepting offers or completing tasks, followed by a transaction, through taskapron you are initiating a contractual agreement between you, the poster, and the tasker. Being a reputation-based platform, there are several tools to utilize when you start receiving offers and must choose a tasker including, but not limited to, badges, licenses, reviews and a portfolio. We recommend members follow our community guidelines in order to keep your account in good-standing.

If you feel uncomfortable at any time or in any situation, contact us for further assistance. Your questions and concerns remain confidential and are handled seriously. If you feel you may be in danger, contact your local authorities immediately by dialing 911.

We've put a list of measures together to help ensure your safety on taskapron and help make informed decisions.

After posting a task

When a task is posted, it is made available to the public where information included can be viewed by anyone. It's important that you don't add any personal information such as phone numbers and addresses for your safety and security.

You're allowed to private message in order to gather more information regarding the task.

Reviewing offers

When reviewing offers, try to be as informative as possible communicating with potential taskers. Understanding exactly what must be done before starting work makes it easier on both the poster and tasker essentially helping to avoid any cancellations and make appropriate offers. Don't hesitate to inquire with the tasker about qualifications (licenses) because they must be shown before starting work. You'll then have the ability to communicate and discuss the task through our private messenger. If agreed to mutually and a bigger budget is needed, you can easily increase it by locating the task in your dashboard, select details, then increase budget.

Budget decreases are currently unsupported. If you need to reduce the budget you may cancel the task and repost it. Communicate with your tasker, if you have assigned one, throughout the process to avoid any confusion.

Before starting the task

When the tasker shows up to complete the project don't be afraid to ask them to verify their insurance and identity if necessary. Trade related tasks require licenses, identification and insurance making it the perfect time to check and confirm both. You may request these through private message as well.

While the task is in progress

Releasing the payment before the task is complete is a big no no. Once it's released you can no longer receive a refund or open a dispute. Checking the progress before, during, and after is essential to making sure that your requirements are met.

If you encounter a situation where the requirements listed in the original post aren't met, you must first try and sort it out with the tasker. If it can't be sorted, you may contact us or open a dispute (this cancels the post) for further assistance.

After the task is completed

When your tasker clocks out, after every task, it's important to check the work in person. You may request photos and other proof but it must be checked by you physically before releasing. If you can't check the work, and you are sure that the task is complete, you may release but it will be at your own descrition. You'll have 48 hours to check the work or it will automatically be released to the tasker.

After checking that the work was completed as specified, you can then release the payment! The funds will be released and sent directly to the tasker. You may choose to tip if you please (tasker receives 100%).

After the task is closed

At this point, you've released the payment completing the task! You can let others know how your tasker performed on the task by leaving a review. It's important you remain professional and genuine.

Poster safety - What should I do if I feel unsafe after posting a task?

Your safety and security are of the utmost importance here at taskapron. Should you encounter any situation where you feel uncomfortable in any way, make sure to contact us right away. We will make sure to handle the situation in confidence. If, regardless of reason, you feel that you are in danger, we recommend calling your local emergency line.

Feeling threatened?
taskapron does not bear any sort of behavior that is intimidating, daunting, or oppressing. It is important to know that you can always report all matters that make you feel threatened by another member and we will make sure to take suitable action. If you feel that the matter is urgent, you can call your local emergency line for immediate help.
Feeling bullied?
Unfortunately, sometimes not everyone will get along causing disagreements. It's important to keep in mind that taskapron does not condone inappropriate behavior, including communication that might be harassing. If you feel that a member has made you feel uncomfortable in any way, we recommend that you don’t respond. The best thing that you can do is flag the comment as being inappropriate. A member of our team will reach out and get back to you in case any action is required.
Feel that another member is being rude?
We base our community guidelines on mutual respect. If a member has made a comment that is off-topic or trolling, we recommend that you don’t respond. Flag the comment and someone will be with you if any further assistance is needed. If the tasker that you've assigned to the task is behaving inappropriately, it's fair to politely let them know that you feel uncomfortable. We can always help mediate the situation on your behalf or assist you in having the task closed if they don't improve their behavior.
What to do if your tasker has breached taskapron's Community Guidelines
Any acts committed in violation of taskapron's community guidelines and the law are strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated. These include, but not limited to, theft, vandalism and any other unlawful activities. An example of this can include asking for cash in advance or demanding payment prior to finishing the task. If this, or any other questionable actions, happens you should get in touch with us right away.
What to do if another member is spamming you
Receiving an enormous amount messages from a member can feel annoying and uncomfortable. Although people communicate in different ways, some may not realize that they’re spamming. The best thing that you can do is let them know politely, or contact us if the problem continues.
Poster safety - What should I do if a member cancels for cash payment?

Be advised that there may be members asking you to cancel a task promising you a cash payment instead. However, in the absence of a safe escrow payment on the taskapron platform, we can't protect you and we can't force the other member to make the payment.

Such activity is fraudulent and breaches our Terms & Conditions. In order to stay protected, we highly recommend that you don’t take tasks or payments outside of the platform. Offers promising cash payments to allegedly avoid fees are too good to be true; meaning they’re probably attempting to scam you.

Tasks that are completed via the taskapron platform provide members with a peace of mind. Members are provided with a secure payment system, a dispute resolution center, and an experienced support team. If someone promises you a cash payment, we advise you to decline and if you can’t reach a mutual agreement, contact us for support.

We value the wellbeing of our members and constantly try to provide an exceptional user experience for everyone.

When someone on your task is acting suspiciously
When a a member’s behavior begins to make you feel insecure or uncomfortable, we advise you to stop all communication. Contact us right away with details of the situation and a member of our team will reach out with further information if necessary.
When an offer seems too good to be true

If you feel confident of the perpetrator, you must contact your local authorities and file a report. taskapron will assist in the matter any way necessary.
What to do if another member is spamming you

Poster safety - How do I know I can trust my tasker?

We, at taskapron, value trust and safety more than anything. We acknowledge that for you it is important to feel confident and truly believe you’ve chosen the right person for the assigned task. We recommend following these tips and tricks to help you feel more secure.

1. Check for profile badges
We've created a number of optional badges that members can apply for. These badges help to verify things such as their identity and qualifications. If necessary, you must confirm the members identity in person upon arrival.
  1. Identity badges: Shows that you've verified your identity and it matches your profile.
  2. Background check badge: If a member has this badge they have no disclosable court records (i.e. no criminal history) at this point in time.
  3. License badges: Shows that the tasker has confirmed their qualifications under a trade. If they have this badge, they currently are licensed to perform work in that field. The license must be viewed again upon arrival for verification purposes.
2. Request an ID/license:
If a tasker doesn’t have a taskapron badge it could be that their country of residence is not the United States; it doesn’t mean the tasker is not genuine. We recommend requesting any documents prior to starting the task as a way of building trust before arriving. Use the private chat feature to communicate with your potential tasker.
3. Conduct a local search:
If a tasker mentions their business and how much experience they have, you should verify the business using a preferred search engine (e.g. Google.com, Bing.com).
4. Make sure the tasker(s) you assign shows up:
The tasker you assign must be the tasker or business that completes it. Please note that the taskers insurance may not be covered if the tasker assigned to complete a task doesn’t complete it or is not there. If someone else responds on behalf of the tasker you chose, just let them know, politely, that you’d rather discuss the details with the tasker assigned to the task.
5. Be careful of the person helping your tasker:
Taskers are allowed to bring other taskers if help is needed on larger tasks, however, they must be registered with taskapron. You can ask from the beginning who will complete the task just to be sure all parties involved are on the same page.
Poster safety - How can I verify that someone is licensed?

The team at taskapron take the safety and security of our members extremely serious. If your posted task demands a licensed tradesperson, it is important to know that your chosen tasker must have adequate qualifications.

Official badges are currently only available in the United States; their purpose is to verify that a tasker is licensed to work in the United States under a judicial form (e.g. as a company). If your tasker doesn’t live in the US, he will not have a badge next to or under their profile.

The taskapron badge service is only available for US citizens only; for now. It's best to verify any licenses before hiring, or arriving to the task site via private chat.

If you want to verify the license yourself you may do so by running their business or license number in your states registry.

Tasker safety - After being assigned to a task, what safety tips should be followed?

We, at taskapron, take safety and security very serious. Building a trusted community where members go to find or post tasks, while creating an all-around positive experience, is a goal we wish to maintain.

It's important to note that when accepting offers or completing tasks, followed by a transaction, through taskapron you are initiating a contractual agreement between you, the poster, and the tasker. Being a reputation-based platform, there are several tools that are utilized by the poster when you start sending offers and one is accepted including, but not limited to, badges, licenses, reviews and a portfolio. As a tasker it's important that you take advantage of these free tools.

Inquiring on a task

When a task is posted, it is made available to the public where information included can be viewed by anyone. It's important that you don't add any personal information such as phone numbers and addresses for your safety and security.

You're allowed to private message in order to gather more information regarding the task.

Making offers

When making offers, try to be as informative as possible communicating with potential posters. Understanding exactly what must be done before starting work makes it easier on both the poster and tasker essentially helping to avoid any cancellations and make appropriate offers. The poster may inquire about your qualifications (licenses), so they must be shown when requested and before starting work. You'll then have the ability to communicate and discuss the task through our private messenger. If agreed to mutually and a bigger budget is needed, you can easily request an increase by contacting the poster with specific details on why it is needed. You may have to provide receipts if necessary.

Verify that you would like to work with the poster by viewing their profile. It contains information such as their reviews and verification badges.

Budget decreases are currently unsupported. If you need to reduce the budget you must stay in contact with the poster through the entire process of reposting the task.

Before starting the task

When you show up to complete the project you may be asked to verify your insurance and identity if necessary. Trade related tasks require licenses, identification and insurance making it the perfect time to check and confirm both. The poster may request these through private message as well.

While the task is in progress

Requesting that that the poster releases payment before the task is complete is a big no no. This may limit your ability to make offers as it goes against our community guidelines. The poster has the right to check the progress before, during, and after to making sure that their requirements are met.

If you encounter a situation where you can't fulfill the requirements listed in the original post aren't met, you must first try and sort it out with the poster. If it can't be sorted, you may contact us or open a dispute (this cancels the post) for further assistance.

After the task is completed

After you clock out, after every task, it's important to check in with your poster and give them time to verify the work done. It's important to take photos for your record, and as the poster may request them and other proof.

After checking that the work was completed as specified, the poster will release the payment within 48 hours! The funds will be released and sent directly to the tasker. If the poster chooses to tip, you'll receive 100%.

After the task is closed

At this point, the payment has been released completing the task! You can let others know how your experience with the poster on the task by leaving a review. It's important you remain professional and genuine.

Tasker safety - How do I know I can trust my poster?

We, at taskapron, value trust and safety more than anything. We acknowledge that for you it is important to feel confident and truly believe in the person who assigned you the task. We recommend following these tips and tricks to help you feel more secure.

1. Check for profile badges

We recommend that when requesting to see an ID prior to starting the task, that you provide your ID and other documents as it will help to build trust. Use the private chat feature to communicate with your potential poster.
3. Request task or event information beforehand:
It's helpful for you, as a tasker, to know what and who to expect when arriving to the task site. This could ultimately affect your ability to complete the task. If the task description doesn't provide enough relevant information you may request more. You should know information including, but not limited to, working alongside someone else, how many workers will be on site and the amount of guests to arrive. For example, when hired to set up an event and stay for 3 hours, you should know how many other staff members you'll be working with.
Dispute Resolution - What tips should I follow when I have an issue with my task

With taskapron, tasks are mostly completed without incident. But, sometimes things can become more complicated than expected. It's vital that both the poster and tasker are on the same page and expect the same results in order to avoid any disagreements.

taskapron offers free dispute resolution in those unavoidable situations. It's imperative that both the poster and tasker try to settle their differences before opening a dispute as the decision will no longer remain in either hands. The decision will be left to our resolution team.

Follow the tips below if you feel you are having trouble with someone in the task.

Communication

To avoid communication breakdown, members must remain open about any questions and concerns. Remain clear, practical and honest when communicating.

Do's:
  • Openly communicating your concerns usually solves any issues or misinformation; that's why it is important to be clear when doing so. You should always double check any details you are unclear of.
  • Mind your tone - be aware that your tone matters and things may come across differently than originally intended.
  • Reply quickly - your response time matters, as this lowers tension.
  • Express concerns - be open if you feel the task isn't going as planned. Discussing this with the other party eliminates any confusion later.
  • Tasks and communication must remain on the taskapron platform.
  • If a mistake is made, be upfront and honest about it so things can move forward.
  • If the situation gets out of your control, communicate it with support where the situation can be communicated on both parties' behalf.
Dont's:
  • Respond to messages slowly - waiting too long to respond can cause the other party to assume you may not want to continue and cancel.
  • Be crude or bad-mannered - lousy behavior during tasks or when private messaging is frowned upon and may lead to account limitations.
  • Take feedback poorly - feedback should be taken lightly using that experience as a reference to future tasks.
Payments

Payments are usually the first of any concern when things aren't going as planned on a task. The benefit to using taskapron is a secured payment system. Payments are held in a taskapron escrow account until tasks are completed, so if things get out of hand, we can help to mediate.

Do's:
  • Tasks and communication must remain on the taskapron platform.
  • Respect other peoples situation - posters should think of the time and expenses that go into a task, and taskers should provide detailed offers with expenses included.
  • Suggest payment changes if the scope of work does too.
Dont's:
  • Negotiate payments outside of the taskapron platform.
  • Cancel a task in favor of a cash payment. You lose the benefits of the taskapron payment system and risk limiting your account permanently.
A tip for taskers - Fulfill the task to the best of your ability

We encourage members to take photos and provide detailed descriptions, but unfortunately sometimes a task isn't always as described. If you feel confident enough to complete the task, you may so choose and you are encouraged to do your best to complete it properly.

Do's:
  • Complete the task as specified and to the best of your ability.
  • If the scope of work changes, be sure to send the changes via private messenger where you can also discuss budget changes.
  • Collect as much evidence as possible (e.g. take photos).
Dont's:
  • Complete tasks in which you don't feel safe and are not qualified to do.
  • Complete tasks that you are not hired for - if additional work is needed, the budget may be increased or a new post can be created in seconds.

Effectively communicating all questions and concerns in a timely manner can quickly resolve any issues with other members.

Being in a dispute is stressful. We trust that these tips are helpful enough to solve any situation encountered and come to an agreement.

If you've tried these tips and no agreement can be made, you may decide to open a dispute where taskapron support can mediate. Read taskapron's dispute process for more information.

Dispute Resolution - What is taskapron's dispute process

Tasks can sometimes become more complicated than initially anticipated. Disputes generally occur between members when there is miscommunication or things don't go as planned.

taskapron's dispute process is free and is governed by 3 main dispute phases to help you negotiate, and hopefully, reach an agreement satisfactory for all parties involved.

Tasks may only be considered for taskapron's dispute process if:
  • Work has started on the task
  • You haven’t breached taskapron's Community Guidelines
  • You've made the other party aware of the dispute before filing
  • Both parties have tried to communicate and reach an agreement, but failed

Considering all of the above mentioned conditions have been met, the task is entitled to dispute assistance from the taskapron support system. The process has been detailed below.

Stage 1: Negotiations
  • Before taskapron intervene, be sure that you've made efforts to reach out and resolve the dispute with the other member
  • If no mutual agreement can be made, you may open a dispute and provide any details of the situation along with proof.
Stage 2: taskapron's assessment
  • taskapron support becomes the active mediator
  • Support evaluates and reviews the task and member responses
  • We request additional information if needed
Stage 3: Determination
  • A decision is made based on the evidence provided by members
  • A detailed determination is made available to both parties
  • If you don't agree with the final decision, you are free to take the matter to your local courts at your own cost

We understand that the dispute process can be stressful. To make sure the experience as positive and as efficient as possible, take into consideration the following tips:

Do's:
  • Understanding your resolution options, and what to expect if in a dispute
  • Try and resolve the situation with the other party to the best of your ability
  • Try and understand the situation from both perspectives
Dont's:
  • Expect to win the dispute without solid evidence
  • Contact taskapron customer support without first attempting to resolve the situation with the other member
  • Breach the taskapron community guidelines in the dispute process
Dispute resolution - What should I do during the dispute process

Being in a dispute with a member can be stressful, and we totally understand that. Both parties expect fair payment based on their expectations and the work done on a certain task. taskapron dispute and all other services (besides a commission) are free of charge as a way to help grow relationships within in the community without unnecessary fees. It's also a way of helping you to negotiate more effectively and resolve issues on your own.

We highly recommend that you treat everyone with respect. Inappropriate behavior or actions throughout the dispute process won’t be tolerated. This includes any of the behaviors listed below.

  • Breaching taskapron's community guidelines
  • Acting in an abusive or threatening way to taskapron staff or other members of taskapron
  • Uncooperative conduct throughout the dispute process

Should you adopt any of the above behaviors, regardless of the nature of the dispute, we reserve the right to stop any relationship with you and direct the payment to the other party. In simple terms, if you are a taskapron tasker, this means you will not be paid, and if you're a taskapron poster, this means that you will not be entitled to negotiate partial payment.

This is done as a way to encourage productive behavior and common decency as it is the foundation on which taskapron was developed. Mutual respect renders the best results in any situation. Let’s work together to reach common ground and provide an outcome that is fair and equal for the rightful parties involved.

Dispute resolution - Is there anything I should do before starting the dispute process?

Communication is the key to resolving any issue. Miscommunication occurs when members fail to voice their concerns before, during or after tasks. The other party can't read your mind so it's important to communicate any misunderstandings or problems.

  • Remain honest and open to negotiating.
What happens next?
  • You might receive input/feedback from the other member about what happened and what should of happened according to their expectations.

Insurance

Does taskapron provide insurance to posters and taskers?

In order to maintain the taskapron platform, we must charge a commission fee. The commission fee is applied to the end of every task that is completed successfully. All other features and options on the platform are free and will remain free. By providing the features and low commission rates that we do, we can continue to build the platform and pay our staff.

Unfortunately with the low commission rates set in place, we can't provide insurance. Posters and taskers on the taskapron platform are independent and simply come to post and find tasks. We don't intervene unless there are questions or a dispute so if you are independent and use the platform, you are considered independent (this includes decisions about insurance).

As a poster and tasker you should obtain insurance from the company of your choice and state that in the description of your profile. You may be asked to confirm this upon arrival.
